The Competency Management Model

Defining Measuring Developing

The Competency Management Model provides a systematic process of defining, measuring and developing important competency gaps and providing extensive job and personality indications to help the person and the organisation blend together into a successful match.

First, we define the job and critical parameters surrounding the position.

Second, we measure the most important personal/professional, team and organisational competencies and benchmark them against the best-practice job definition. Research indicates that the source of 50% of job performance problems is that people are in the wrong job. Another 25% of on-the-job performance problems is the inability to identify the ‘gaps’ between the competencies of the person and the requirements of the job.

Third, we develop and implement appropriate solutions to bridge the competency gaps and align human performance interventions with the strategic thinking and planning of the organisation.
