Clarifying Your Vision

No person would dare to build their house without a clear picture/visual/plan – yet many people attempt to live their life without a master plan or picture or vision.

A vision is a clear description of a desired state of affairs at a particular moment in the future. Your vision is your big goal, your magnificent obsession, your major driving force for the next three to five to 10 years, maybe longer.

Your vision brings clarity and focus to your values and mission statement.

Your vision statement should:

As a yardstick your vision statement should give you an easy answer to the questions

‘where, exactly am I going?

And am I there yet?’

Write your clear vision statement in this four part process:

1. Dream the dream; picture the picture; vision the vision of your life in a future time – Think BIG!

2. Write a clear vision statement that is SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Results oriented, Time bound)

3. Outline some critical success factors (CSFs) around your vision. These are like memos to self or action pointers.

4. Clarify the vision so you hold it clearly your mind

The Bible says: “Without a vision, the people will perish” (Proverbs 29:18)

And finally, a clearly written vision statement sums up your courage levels.
